First bank of Nigeria has an airtime topup service that allows bank customers to load airtime credit directly to their SIMs by dialing a USSD code.

The code for First Bank's airtime Topup service is simply *894*Amount#.

Let's say a First bank customer wants to recharge his phone/SIM with airtime credit of N1000, all he needs to dial from his GSM phone is *894*1000# and the credit will be loaded to their phones.

The minimum a bank customer can load per day using this USSD service is N1000 and the maximum is N3000 for the sake of security of funds. Also, another security feature is that it's only the phone number already registered at the bank that can make use of this service and bank customers who don't have any phone number existing with First bank may have to do a customer update before using this service.

What I live about this service is that it's free meaning that there are no hidden charges such as convenience or transaction fees when using. The only cost may be about N2 to N4 for making the USSD request from your phone. COT may be however present if the bank account used is a current account.

There are many people who have a First bank account in Nigeria but not many of them are aware of this service and so still go ahead with buying scratch cards from gsm airtime vendors. With this new service from First bank, you no longer need to stress yourself to load airtime by scratching any card or dialing any PIN code but just the USSD code in the format *894*Amount# and your airtime will be credited.

First bank's airtime topup service is truly remarkable and this is one of the newest and most convenient way to load airtime in Nigeria.
