GTBank customers now have more reason to smile as they can load airtime credit to their phones more easily by dialing GTbank's airtime recharge code in the format *737*AMOUNT#.

This service works for only GTBank customers who have a phone number in their bank account records with their bank and have sufficient funds in their bank accounts.

Let's assume you are a GTBank customer and want to recahrge your Glo, Airtel, Etisalat or MTN sim with a credit of N2,000, you can do this easily without having to scratch any recharge card by just dialing *737*2000# and the amount will be loaded to your SIM within a few minutes.

Are there any hidden charges? Well, no except for a few charges of about N2 to N4 that may be debited to your phone's credit for dialing the USSD code. So, you need to have at least N5 to access the service from your SIM.

GTbank calls this airtime recahrge service the 1-click topup service and it's available to all her customers from their bank registered phones. If you are a GTBank customer that wants to use the service but with a non registerd phone, then you just need to update your customer records with that new phone number at the bank and you'd be able to use it.

I have to say that in Nigeria, there are many ways to load airtime credit to one's phone such as by using a recharge card, buying it online, using internet banking, ATM recharge and VTU vendors but this USSD based airtime Topup service is the easiest I've used so far. In fact, I think the only hard thing here is to remember the code to dial and that's why I wrote this post so that you can Google for it.
