MTN Nigeria is one of the top GSM Network Providers in Nigeria and their Mobile Money Platform enables a subscriber to transfer funds from one account to another with his mobile phone. This article would tell you how to register on MTN Mobile Money, Fund and Pay for Bills through the Mobile Wallet.

Things you need to do

- Register for MTN mobile money
- Fund your account

How To Register For MTN Mobile Money:
- MTN SIM cards already come with Mobile Money application menu. You can access the menu or simply dial *500#

- Choose your preferred bank from the list of banks available either. Fortis Bank or Stanbic Bank.

- Select your account pin.

- You will receive a text message that your account has been activated.

How To Deposit Money Into Your MTN Mobile Money Account:
You can fund your Mobile Money account by

- Visiting any MTN office or Mobile Money agent.

- Pay the cash equivalent to the Agent.

- Tell the Agent how much you wish to deposit into your Mobile Money account. Give the agent your phone number that is your Mobile Money account number.

- The Agent will top up your account with virtual money (Electronic money for free you will receive a text message that your account has been funded with the amount you wish to deposit into your account.

- Check your account balance to confirm money has entered your account.

How To Pay Your Bills Through MTN Mobile Money:
You can make payments for your Utility Bill with Mobile Money by,

- Dialing *500#

- Select Pay Bill by typing 2 and send
- Options 1,2,3 will be displayed
- Select Pay for Utilities by typing 2 and send
- From the display screen, select DSTV by typing 2.
- Enter the DSTV smart card number
- Enter the amount you wish
- Enter your Account PIN, You will receive a message on your phone confirming the completion of the transaction.

How To Purchase Airtime With Mobil Money:
- Dial *500# with your phone.
- Choose to Buy Goods by typing 3 and send.
- From the displayed screen, type 1 to recharge your phone or type 2 to recharge for others and send.
- Enter the amount of Airtime you wish to buy
- Enter the beneficiary’s mobile number (no entry is required if your own mobile phone is the beneficiary)
- Repeat the mobile number entered in step 5 above
- Confirm the details supplied
- Enter your Account PIN
- You will receive a message on your phone confirming the completion of the transaction.

How To Transfer Money To Somebody else’s Account With MTN Moble Money:
- Dial *500#
- Select Send Money by typing 1 and send
- Options 1,2,3 will be displayed
- Select others by typing 2 and send.
- From the display screen, enter the recipient’s mobile number
- Repeat the mobile number. Enter reference
- Enter the amount you wish to send
- Select a four-digit secret code
- Repeat the secret code
- Confirm the details supplied.Enter your Account PIN
- You will receive an SMS containing the secret code and a Token (a randomly generated twelve-digit number).
- Pass on the Token and the secret code to the receiver.

Thereafter, the receiver goes to a Mobile Money Agent to cash out the money.

How To Withdraw From Your MTN Mobile Money Account:
- Visit any Mobile Money Cash-Out agent. - Tell the agent how much you wish to cash-out.
- From your Phone.Dial *500#
- Select Cash Withdrawal by typing 5 and send
- Select From Agent by typing 1 and send
- Select ‘Cash-Withdrawal ON’ by typing 1 and send
- Enter your Account PIN and Cash out money is enabled
- Follow the other instruction to withdraw amount from an agent
- Supply your mobile number to the agent
- Await a confirmation prompt from the system (sent by the agent to your phone)
- Click ‘Ok’ when the confirmation prompt arrives on your phone, Click ‘Yes’ to approve the cash-out
- Enter your account PIN.You will receive a message confirming the success of the cash-out along with your remaining balance after the transaction.Receive the cash from the agent
